The South Building of Ramsey Grammar School is a separate extension to the school. It contains the art and design departments, drama, food technology, a special needs department, the 6th Form lecture theatre and tutorial rooms along with the 6th Form common room and the resistant materials department (woodwork and metalwork). This particular school also has a rural science department which is linked to a new piggery which was built as part of the project. The project incorporates a number of low carbon design solutions, including sun-pipes and wind-towers to provide natural light and ventilation to deep spaces within the school. The lecture theatre is designed to avoid air conditioning and is served with displacement ventilation from roof mounted plant. Client: Isle of Man Government
