Pitt Rivers Research Centre, oxford university
Oxford, England
The new Research Centre was constructed adjoining the Pitts River Museum and provides research and educational facilities for students.
Foreman Roberts designed systems which made use of the thermal mass of the building structure to keep comfort cooling and hence energy consumption to a minimum – as with all these systems coordination with the rest of the design team was critical. The research and educational facilities are, necessarily, state of the art and our services design had to meet these exacting standards. The client was Oxford University Estate Directorate.
