Distribution (and Light Industrial)

Foreman Roberts have substantial experience of delivering Distribution and Light Industrial projects. Examples of our project experience are included below:

J Sainsbury (Special Projects) – Distribution Depot, Hamshall – A new central distribution depot at 65,000 m2 provided Sainsbury’s with ambient, chilled and frozen storage space. Administration space was also provided for management of the depot local distribution requirements. This was a fast track project delivered early with zero defects at handover.

J Sainsbury (Special Projects) -Distribution Depot Extension, Wellingborough – An existing Distribution facility upgraded and extended to suit their requirements, including new ambient racking and approximately 50% chilled refrigerated produce storage. This was a fast track project delivered with zero defects at handover.

J Sainsbury (Special Projects Group) Distribution Depot, Haydock – A Distribution Depot Extension at Haydock, which at the time was Sainsbury’s largest distribution centre. This new build on a green field site comprised 100,000 sq ft of ambient storage and 25,000 sq ft of refrigerated ‘chilled’ storage. Of special interest this depot included a ‘Fast Suppression Early Response’ fire system. This high level system resulted in the elimination of the traditional ‘in store rack’ sprinklers and high speed smoke extract system. The site is home to a Sainsbury’s regional headquarters office.

Homebase Distribution Depot Extension, Wellingborough – A 5,000m² extension to the existing 20,000m² Wellingborough distribution centre, including modification/replacement of key services systems within the existing building and fire strategy for both the depot and associated offices.

Iverk Produce Refrigerated Distribution Centre, Piltown, Co Kilkennt – a new warehouse which includes banana ripening room’s, cooled storage areas and general food storage.

Royal Mail Streamline Distribution Centre, Hatfield – a new 5,500m2 office and Distribution warehouse facility.

Skycare and Concorde Express, Heathrow – Refurbishment of existing cargo handling facilities to facilitate new high bay racking and auto selection system together with forming new office space.

Express Cargo, Linwood Warehouse and Office Complex, Tilbury – a fully automated warehouse fitted out to a high standard. Foreman Roberts worked closely with the design build contractor to deliver the project on time and within budget.
