new Junior school beside recently completed Auldyn Infants School, it will be the first building on the Isle of Man to be assessed by BREEAM and the contractors and design team are targeting an ‘excellent’ rating. A ground source heat pump is linked to the under-floor heating as the primary heat source, with minimal gas boilers providing high temperature heating to top up the solar Domestic Hot Water and the mechanical ventilation required for the performance hall. Lighting control is provided throughout along with natural ventilation via wind towers.
