We’re always on the lookout to convert existing structures and have proven experience in the successful conversion of buildings across multiple sectors for many uses and in doing so, extending their lifespan.
Through re-purposing, we can provide buildings with a second lease of life whilst saving thousands of tonnes of carbon that would have ordinarily been expelled in demolitions and new builds whilst rejuvenating, and revitalising existing structures.

Below are some of our projects which have succeeded in achieving this:
Parker Tower (Office to Residential)

Conversion of the existing building to include an additional two storeys and a new façade with a change of use to provide 53 residential units (comprising 40 private apartments, 7 social rented units and 6 shared ownerships) with office accommodation at part ground and first floor level. The new top two floors comprise a four-bedroom duplex penthouse apartment with a roof terrace complete with stunning views over London.

Conversion of No. 1 Neathouse Place in Victoria, London which created a new 4-star hotel for RIU, established hotel owner and operator. The hotel comprises 451 guestrooms across 11 floors above a podium and ground floor reception together with restaurant and kitchen facilities and car parking and plant located across 3 basement levels.
The Arts Building (Light Industrial to Office)

U+I purchased an old warehouse building from the art dealer, John Jones to convert it into a CAT A office environment. The warehouse and front offices were converted into a single space, with the rear warehouse providing a grand double height space, highlighting the exposed concrete structure. This combined provided 30,000 sq ft. of flexible, air-conditioned environment.

At Foreman Roberts we firmly believe in developing designs which reduce the impact of embodied carbon, through retrofitting and using state of the art technology to modernise existing buildings.
In doing so, mitigating the carbon emissions associated with demolition and new construction, giving existing buildings a new lease on life.
